Is your favorite record all scratched up and full of pops and clicks when you play it? No Problem. All you need to do is visit Studio 300 and transfer (digitize) the music to one of our Apple computers.
We have turntables that will playback your LPs (and 45s and even 78s) and software to record the sound. But the real magic is our clean-up tool (called iZotope RX) designed to remove pops, clicks, and other noise. It is quite simple to master this software (really just a couple of mouse clicks) and the results can be quite dramatic! Listen to these two samples of same music: One before and the other after removing the pops and clicks.
Got a box of old vinyl records collecting dust in the closet? Turntable long gone? No problem. Bring your albums to Studio 300 and we will show you how to transfer them to CD (and/or MP3). Studio 300 has two great turntables that can handle 33’s, 45’s and even 78’s. It’s easy to do and the results will amaze you!
Also, as part of our Digital Archiving Series, you can learn to transfer your old recordings to new formats by attending our LP/Cassette to CD/MP3 program. Two dates available: Tuesday, June 25, 7p and Thursday, July 25, 2p. You can sign up using the Library’s website no sooner than 21 days before the date.
But if you want to get started right away, contact Studio 300 for one-on-one training and start listening to your treasured music again.
