Each winter musical artists from around the world take on the RPM challenge (Record Production Month) and record a full album of music in one month. And if that challenge alone isn’t hard enough, they do it in February—the shortest month of the year.
The contest doesn’t require you to write new songs (but it’s highly encouraged), but to win, you need to record ten tracks or 35 minutes of music.
Get started at the official RPM website, where you can sign up for your own dedicated artist page, listen to prior contributions, encourage other participates, and get feedback on your music. And on February 1st, it’s time to hit that big red record button.
Of course, Studio 300 is here to help with gear, recording spaces, and encouragement. We’ll get you rolling in no time.
Light painting photography is a fun activity for kids of all ages. Recently Studio 300 hosted a light painting portrait class for adults where our patrons learned the basic photography skills required for successful images. Then we kicked it in to high gear and added a flash to create some fun and interesting portraits. Go to our Flickr page for the results of the class.
Moms and their sons explored Studio 300 once again during our second Digital Date Night. The evening was filled with fun as patrons played music, made videos, used our Carvey desktop fabricator, built and coded a robot, and so much more.
Dads and their daughters explored Studio 300 once again during our latest Digital Date Night. The evening was filled with fun as patrons played music, made videos, used our Carvey desktop fabricator, built and coded a robot, and so much more.
Head on over to our Flickr site to see the finished photos from this year’s Fountaindale Public Library annual program. You can download various sizes of these finished portraits from Flickr and share them however you wish.
At this year’s program, our Fountaindale Public Library patrons experimented with two different animation styles: cutout stop-motion and computer-based animation. Here are their completed animations made during the November 2018 Animation Bootcamp program in Studio 300.
Congratulations to the Bolingbrook Garden Club for taking the first place trophy (Amateur Built Float) at this year’s Pathways Parade. Members used Studio 300 technology to create several elements of their design.
