We have a full slate of authors speaking during the day including:

Amanda Adams – Corporate Executive turned author with The Sangrita Club.

Justin Dauer – He brings his creative energy and insight to his nonfiction book Cultivating a Creative Culture.

Valante Grant – Her debut novel, Under Your Hat, was written during 2016’s NaNoWriMo.

TJC & AH Hrubes – This creative couple writes and designs Ten, Tall, Totally Twisted, Terrible Tales to Tell and Cat With a Blue Checkered Kite.

Lolah Lace – Prolific and best-selling author of romantic fiction, her latest title coming soon is Cove Garden.

Sue Mydliak – Special Ed. Paraprofessional by day and writer at night she penned the best-selling Rosewood trilogy.

Tracy Townsend – Her debut novel, The Nine (Thieves of Fate, #1) from Pyr arrives this November.

What is Indie Author Day?
The second annual Indie Author Day will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017. On this day, indie authors and members of the writing community will gather at their local libraries to participate in community-based activities like author panels, book readings and signings, writing workshops, presentations from local industry specialists and more.

NaNoWriMo Meetups

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

Get an overview of the NaNoWriMo process, meet other writers, start planning for the big fall event, and then write, write, WRITE!

  • Pre-Launch: Thursday, October 27, 6:00 p.m.
  • Come Write-in: Sunday, November 6, 2:00 p.m.
  • Mid-month Check-in: Tuesday, November 15, 7:00 p.m.
  • Come Write-in: Saturday, November 19, 2:00 p.m.
  • Wrap-up: Tuesday, December 6, 7:00 p.m.

Indie Author Day

An in-person and digital gathering with writers, agents, and other industry leaders featuring presentations for our Fountaindale writing community about all the tools available to use at the library. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for authors to connect.

Stories Matter

The official event begins in November, but this April you may dip your toe into the waters with a lighter “writer’s retreat” known as Camp NaNoWriMo right here at Fountaindale Public Library.
